1. Think of a mentor who has helped guide you in some way. It could be a parent, teacher, friend, or any community member. Think about how they influenced you, and take the time to thank them, just like Tristan did in the newsletter. It is important to sustain lasting connections that can support you as you grow!
2. Draw a picture, take a photo, write a journal entry, or express however you want something that you are proud of that you did this school year. It could be an academic achievement, a step toward a personal goal, a passion you discovered, a way you helped someone, anything! Take some time to reflect on what you've accomplished this school year.

We’ve all got goals—things we want to do in the future. This month’s challenge is meant to get you to think about pursuing your goals.
Pretend you are applying for your dream job, whatever it may be. Create a resumé. A resumé is a page that bosses look at when they are deciding if they want to hire someone. Your resumé should list your experiences and qualities that make you qualified for the job. Also include a short description of why you want that job. Feel free to be creative with the resumé! You can decorate it and include anything that you think is relevant to your dream job. You’d be surprised at how much you already have going for you. The College Knowledge Bowl is only a few months away, so it’s time to start getting competitive!
Your goal is to list as many college majors ending in “-ology” as you can in five minutes (hint: a few are answers to crossword clues). Feel free to work in teams and compete against each other to see who can come up with the most (no making up fake words). If you send your lists to us, we will put them up on our website, and the team that submits the longest list will get a shoutout in our next YouTube video! Ready, set, GO! Email lists to a member of Maine College Circle (or our group email: [email protected]). Time to study up on Maine geography! Do you know where all the colleges in the state are located? Print or draw a map of Maine and make arrows/signs to as many colleges as you can. Feel free to get creative with your map-making!
Email pictures of your maps to a member of Maine College Circle (or our group email: [email protected]) and we may post them on our website! For this month’s challenge, you will be conducting an (informal) interview! Find an adult in your life who went to college (it could be a relative, teacher, doctor, coach, barber, anyone!), and ask them about their experience:
You made it to our website, so good job on completing the first part of the challenge! Here you will find the answers to many of the questions you have asked about college, as well as some videos of college life from our YouTube channel! We will upload all CKB crosswords and challenge questions here.
Now, navigate over to the “Who Are We?” tab, where you can learn a little about who is answering your questions. You’ll see our emails listed so choose one of us and send us an email about anything. We are happy to answer any questions and we want to get to know you better! |
